Elos MIDI Pool60

The Elos is getting full of frags and sorta looking like a frag tank! So time to begin a new project....

Water testing the new frag tank I picked up from a local reefer.

Some updated shots of the MIDI. Redid the aquascape and moved a bunch of stuff to the frag tank in order to simplify it. Here it is....

Small update on the frag tank, after pulling a bunch of stuff from the MIDI and putting it into the frag tank, the frag tank is now full.

Added a few new pieces to the display. Though I liked the simple rock structure I had going before I wanted to add some softies and filler pieces for movement.

any update pictures of your sump? thanks

I have yet to do much to the sump. Basically all I have done this far is completely de-baffle the entire sump to give me more room. I have it on my "winter to-do list" to work on it since I am getting a few micro bubbles now. I will post some updates when it is done.

Christmas Tree reflection shot...

Hollywood Stunner Chalice 5" approximately...

Messing around with photo editing. Kind of a cool shot....

Freshly fragged PE morph. Any ideas on an ID?

Miami Vice (AKA Blue Kisses)

Lastly, these are my Salted Agave zoas. Both of these photos are from the same mother colony. The first one was when I first received them and under my AI Prime for roughly 6 months. The second photo is in my frag tank. They have really changed under MH/PC combo. I love the look of these after putting them under halides.

Frag tank Update:
The stand structure is complete. The sump and refugium have been test fitted.

Now to begin the plumbing. The tank was drilled with a single 1.5" drain and inky box overflow. I drilled it for an additional 2 1" returns that will have alternating flow via a 1" SWCD unit and a Reef Octopus Water Blaster(taking this off of my Elos, too much flow). Opposite side of the returns will be an MP40 for Random flow patterns.

New Skimmer for the frag tank, although this may get moved to the Elos when I re-do the sump.
Coral Box D500 Skimmer

I'm officially a Control Freak!

The basics are all programmed now to work on the Sump Level Switches, and ATO Switches!

Finished my 450nM swap outs on the 3 fixtures. Replaced all 48 with brand new, and replaced two of the 10K with two 450nM's for a bit more blue on the center fixture. I will be ordering 12 more UV's next week to add a bit more pop. So far really liking these OR S026 units!

The drain is actually pretty quiet. The loudest part of the tank currently is the water entering the filter sock, which is not very loud at all. That will be fixed when I complete my sump. Plus I am not putting much flow through the tank(more contact time for skimmer). I plan to add flow to the frag tank via MP40s.

I will not be drilling more holes for an emergency drain. Nobody likes to say never, but I've been in the hobby for 12+ years with as many tanks and never had an emergency drain. But I've also made sure to utilize over sized drains. Also the inky boxes have egg crate that sits on top of overflow to prevent items large enough to clog the drain.
