ELOS MINI ~ 20 Gal

Hello:

I am expecting to get delivery of my new ELOS MINI today and I wanted to start a nice thread of the buildup and transfer of my Peacock mantis shrimp (5") and my oversize (4") damsel.

Here is the first pic of my mini taken with my BB, waiting for me @ the reception area of my office.

I will take a few more pics as soon as I finish building it and put it in its new spot

Hello,

I finally built the tank and and stand, everything looks good so far expect for the fact that the factory forgot to send me the pumps with the setup... never the less Jesse from ELOS USA was kind enough to overnight those pumps to me

Since I am putting an a$$-kicking mantis shrimp in here I felt it was adequate to put a "Chuck Norris Action Jeans" poster behind it. Its just something really funny I found on ebay and had to buy

Here is a few pics of the tank as it sat empty...

Headed over to my LFS and got 40 pounds of sand, was able to make about a 3 inch sandbed that should be sufficient for my Peacock mantis (maybe ill add 20 more pounds, we will see)

Then I took one of the bigger, nicer pieces of rock from my bigger tank and placed it in the Mini, its only about 10 pounds of LR but it looks really clean and nice.

And added some water...

About 18 gallons later this is what it looks like...

This is all for now

I will keep you guys posted Monday of next week once everything settles and I do my first parameter tests...

The LED is part of the Elos Mini package... its called the e-lite and its powerful enough to maintain SPS and other corals.

Is there any information on the LED lighting fixture about what it might be equivalent to? As in, 150w mh or 250w... And can you alter the spectrum at all/alter the brightness of the LEDs? What does is seem like, 14k or 10k?

This is the link to the post from Jesse (Elos USA) to the LED, I am not an expert in any but I have been assured that you can keep SPS corals with it.

The light is looks like a really blue 10k and from my understanding it is the equivalent to a 100w HQI (speaking from memory).
