ELOS MINI ~ 20 Gal

Updated Pics!

Hello:

I have some new pics of my elos, its running well although I still have a few micro bubbles (but they are slowly going away by themselves)

I picked up a yellow seafan as well as a mushroom rock that I am planning on cutting the mushrooms and gluing them to the big piece of rock.

Also, I reposition and epoxied the big leather to their final position.

Here is the front view of the tank

and finally... I transfered my 5" velvel damsel into the tank although its a little shy right now since he has only been about 5 minutes in there @ the time of the picture.

I have also connected at this point a B2 controller to the tank which Jesse will be providing a dimming module/macro for me within the next few weeks in order to simulate dawn to dusk lighting which will start the light @ 10% intensity in the morning go up to 100% mid day and then back to 10% dusk.

More closeup pictures coming soon!

rduong89:

Yes, you can buy the LED separate through phishybusiness.com or any other ELOS distributor.

Wow! You ELOS mini is looking really sleek and cool! Any notes on the skimmer it came with? Pics of the internals of the cabinet would be nice!

Thanks!

Hiya,

I got some more pics, I finally transfered my Biocube 24 to the Elos Mini... and ill take some more of the cabinet in a few minutes and ill post them.

In regards to the skimmer... I must admit I was having a very hard time with it... I finally spoke to Jesse and he walked me through the setup process, I can finally say that I am happy with the way its working, since its definitely oversized for a 20 gal tank.

Eisaia, not sure if you got my previous question:

"Do you still have the credit card piece on the overflow drain or did the noise finally go away?"

Also what setting do you have your return pump at? Are you still getting some micro bubbles?

bad at replying...

bad at replying...

Hiya guys, sorry for not replying earlier... its been crazy at the office with 12 hour+ work days...

Anyway, To answer some of the questions...

Yes I still have the credit card on the drain, I tried removing it a few days ago and its still very loud, as it stands right now its completely silent, so I will just keep it that way.

I have taken a few pics of the internals of the cabinet, I replaced the original drain hose and went to Home Depot and bought 5 feet of blue 1-1/4" hose and created a "P trap" like a standard bathroom sink. This COMPLETELY ELIMINATED micro bubbles.

I have the return pump running at around 80% and the skimmer pump running at around 50%, I found that if I run the skimmer pump any higher it was almost impossible to fine tune and it would overflow every time.

Here is the pic of the "P trap"

Estefano - thanks for the update!! Looks like I will be going to homedepot today to get me that hose!!

Weird about your sump pump. I have mine at 100% and didn't have any issues tuning it at all.....

Blue Hose

Todd:

5 Feet exactly will do the job, the hose is located in the Home Depot in the plumbing department. The other thing I am thinking of doing is drilling a hole on the top of the P trap so that some of the air can escape instead of being forced downwards.

Estefano
