email

At thispoint is sounds like an authentication issue. I'm sure you have double checked your email address and pasword to authenticate to you smtp server but I guess it doesnlt hurt to look again. I would also make the from field the same as the authenticating email address. Does you password have any special characters by any chance? I only say this because I have an issues with the admin password on the AC III unit. When I tried to use special charaters such as !@# I could not log on to the controller. Once I removed them I had no issues. I wonder if maybe there is an issue with special characters and the AC III.

i dont have any special characters and the from address is the same as the to address. i think it just doesnt want to send emails lol

Is the from address the same as the authenticating email address?

I also noticed you said the from & to address are the same. Have yoou tried changing the to: address?

Oh, passwords are case sensitive as well. You want to make sure you enter it into the ACIII in the correct case.

well i put both the from and to address as my email address, and authenticating is the same, all passwords are correct

My settings are:

DNS, Alt DNS, and Gatewate are all pointed to the router (all using the same IP)

The FROM email address is my SBC address and the authentication pw is my SBC password. My TO address is my cellphone an the alt TO address is my work.

If changing the TO address dosn't work, perhaps it is something to do with your network settings. (firewall issues?)

Here is a way to debug the email problem. Telnet into the AquaController, and then login w/ the user name and password (default is admin and 1234). To telnet type 'telnet 192.168.1.50' from the start->run... . Once logged in at the AquaController prompt type:

cons
1 maild
mail

Hopefully, you be able to see what is going wrong. If not email me (support@neptunesys.com) the log, and I'll interprete it.

Curt
