Emerald Attacked clown

Tonight when I was looking in on my tank with my little flashlight I almost had a scene from a horror show happening in front of me. I fist saw my larger of the two clowns come in to the light shaking and soon saw that my emerald crab had him by the tail. The clown then darted upwards and broke the grip almost lifting the emerald off the rock that it was holding on too. I immediately flipped the lights on and the dominant that has been chasing the smaller of the two constantly didn't do much of anything but swim in what I would consider to be a very lazy fashion. I got crab out of the tank and is now in a 5g bucket with 2g of water in it. The clown is in the back corner of the tank on the floor not it's usual sleeping spot. It lays completely motionless and then twitches every now and then a bit when put the light on it. I don't see any physical signs of damage and tbh every night they sleep in some strange different way. So I don't know if this is just another normal for them or if it has some internal injury. I did a feeding to see what would happen and it did swim up to the top of the tank and eat food.

2:30 AM here so going to bed. What are the chances of the clown surviving any injury if one did occur. I'll decide the clowns fate in the morning after seeing the condition of the clown.

Clowns are pretty tough when you get right down to it... mine spent the night in a specimine cup that was bobbing on the surface with my new anemone and he just looked moderately drunk... I would say he is more than likely fine. (This is not medical/legal advice :p)

Clowns are really tough and the Do weird things while they sleep. I'm sure it will be fine. If you have a sump I would put the offending crab in it.

Yeah it survived the night and is back to picking on the other one so I am happy enough that it survived. The offending crab spent the night in the bucket. It will be headed back to the store today. I don't have a sump so they'll either take it back or it goes in the backyard. I'm sure they will take it back. They said they take stuff they just don't guarantee to give you any type of credit. Which is fine I don't even want any credit I'd just prefer to not kill it. But it's not going back in the tank.
