Emerald Crab and Clam

I found the shell to my missing clam this morning in the area my Emerald crab resides. Anyone have any experience keeping these two creatures in the same tank?

I have had and lost two clams over the past year. Both seemed to be healthy, and the next morning they have been eaten. The first one I thought my hermits got it. But now I think it might be the emerald crab.

If the emerald is not compatible, any suggestions for removal? It is about 1.5", and under my largest rock.

grab the rock it is on, that is how i got rid of mine.

Naturally, the rock it is in is the largest piece, and supports other rocks.

I think I'll wait until I upgrade my tank.

You could invest in a "critter trap" to put food in and trigger manually...

Or you could just try to bait it out with some food and corner the bugger...

Have heard many horror stories about emerald crabs, and know of many people who consider them unsafe for reef tanks, even though many websites/LFS tell customers otherwise.

He will be removed when I upgrade tanks. Until then, no clam.
