Emerald crab babies.

Last night I was able to witness one of my emerald crabs release it's young into the water column. It was very exciting. Luckily, I had my digital camera on hand and got a video of the event.

Nice little video. I love to watch things spawn in my tank. The only thing that had me curious in the video is where are all the fish at? They should be going nuts eating that stuff up

haha, i though id find you posting this here too.

im going to get a second emerald crab now. the one i have now is the size of a dime, but doesnt take long for them to grow. i think i had some hermit crabs reproduce in my 10 gal tank, however it could have been my lone cleaner shrimp.

id like to have a pair of cleaner shrimp and pepermint shrimp and now a pair of emerald crabs to produce these batches of babys for coral/fish food. cant wait for my clownfish to start breeding either, my coral will be happy.

To feed the tank, why not keep 10 or so tiger shrimps as cleaners? I do. They do a decent job at both cleaning and food production.

you asking about the crab fry? they wont survive more than an hour assuming they dont get eaten.

tiger shrimp? can we get a better name, as tiger shrimp is a common name for a freshwater shrimp. and the saltwater version i find on google is the kind you eat.
