In other news - water is wet!!!

Happens from time to time. Some people deny it, and make excuses that they're after algae on dead tips and whatnot. Which may be true, but I've also seen them go after nothing but healthy acros before.

Interestingly enough on a casually observational basis, I've only ever seen the large males do this. Females have always been well behaved in this respect, as have juvi males.

I have banished them from my display, save one female my daughter insisted upon getting. Kids, right?

That's no fun to see! I've always heard that crabs of nearly any type are opportunists and they'll eat almost whatever they can get. Certainly a gamble.

Maybe toss it in your sump?

I had a larger one take chunks from my m. setosa, later finding him hanging out in my valida colony at night. He wasn't eating the acro, but from hanging in the same spot every night, he managed to rub off some tissue and now I have a bare spot that seems to be spreading a little. A pair of forceps got him out and into the back chamber. Now I need to find him a new home, little jerk!

I had a strawberry crab that got evicted from my display. Was cutting chunks off everything.
