I bought an emerald crab about a week ago to help control a green hair algea outbrake in a 2 month old aquapod. he has a red spot in between the joints on his right arm. he is picking at it, it seems like he is trying t rip off his arm off. does anyone know why?. My water perameters are gook gravity 1.025, nitrite 0 ammonia 0 nitrate about 15ppm or less, phosphate is only a little high. my temperature is 78-79 degrees. i do a weekly 3 gallon water change using bottled distilled water from walmart. I have no copper in my tank. I havent had anything die in my tank except a hermit crab that lost a battle over its shell. the crab is fairly big with large claws it seems pretty healthy other than the fact its trying to rip its arm off. does anyone know if its a disease or just what crabs do.
