I was always reading about using emerald crabs to control bubble algae but never had much luck with them. This is my 4th emerald crab and it is a real gem (pun intended) At last I have one that loves bubble algae. If the algae is up on the window out of reach I just pile a few rocks and bingo, the algae is gone. So if you are not having luck with them, just try a new one.
