Will emerald crabs eat maidenhair algae?

possibly. In the absence of other food they will eventually eat just about anything. Some seem to have preferences for certain foods.

Im not sure about the maidenhair, but mine will eat just about any other kind of algae. I had a couple of spots of bubble algae and my emeralds clean it up in no time.

not so good on longer algae that sticks up away from the rocks. they do better at scraping low stuff, like bubble algae.

Wonderful.. I have a nice patch of it and I was hoping to keep both the crab and the maidenhair algae
