Emerald crabs

i have 4 in a 20g and they seem fine...(though i probably wouldn't suggest getting that many) i kind impulse bought them :-P

I have 5 in a 60, but am thinking seriously about pulling them. The knock things over all the time, and even bust off things super glued to the rocks. It seems that every day I am replacing something. I guess I could use more glue. As for them getting along, very few territorial disputes in my tanks.

I think they are fun. You can feed them just like you can feed the fish or corals. They do occupy some space and can move stuff, however.

Do you want some in the critter order that is about to happen, I hope?

I think crabs in general will bicker if there's not a good supply of food. I also think they'll eat whatever they can catch and I have personally seen an emerald crab eat a soft coral in my tank.

...and if you're after them to control bubble algae I've not found them to be terribly effective at that task. As Mel stated, they are very opportunistic feeders. I've seen them rip LPS polyps to get food out. And they can get a bit on the large size with time. Not to mention there are several varieties which can be difficult to distinguish from one another.
