Emerald Crabs

As some of you knwo I moved to Dallas from Orlando a year ago. I set up a tank here about 7 months ago. Yesterday I went to the LFS here and bought a emerald crab. It felt weird paying $8 for something I was able to catch in the keys! I used to go down to Islamorada and catch as many emerald crabs as I wanted as well as many other critters. You Florida people are so lucky! I saw a banded coral shrimp listed at the store for $30!!!!! I used to be abel to catch those too in West Plam Beach.

I think the "Grouper Troopers" are keeping tabs on what people are taking out of the water these days. At least that is what I am told.

As long as you have a fishing license with the proper stamps you can take emerald crabs as well as many other creatures out fo the ocean. The only restricted things are rock and coral.

Yeah. I'll be in town the 20th. I am leaving after work that day. I will be driving down to Miami on the 23rd though and flying back to Dallas from Miami on the 25th.
