So I got an RBTA about 4 weeks ago, it immediately split so then I had 2. Both clones settled down, were eating, and seemed happy.
On Friday I got my new 6025s, with the new flow the 'nems decided to move a little bit, #1 ended up back in virtually the same spot, #2 went bowling and parked the next day.
Apparently #2 wasn't happy with its new spot and last night it decided to go bowling again, but by the time the lights were out it was back on a rock again so I didn't worry too much (*WRONG*).
Today I have 1 RBTA again!
There is no salvaging #2, the largest piece I found is about the size of a half dollar. What do I do now? I'm sure I should run carbon, but don't have the means to do so at the moment - a trip to wal-mart is in order. I'm also mixing up some water and waiting for it to warm up. Ammonia is still testing 0, but maybe a trace, it's too hard to tell at the moment.
To make things worse, somehow when it got in the tunze it caused it to start up backwards for a while apparently because I had a bit of a sandstorm over in that corner. I'm extremely saddened by this but my first priority is saving our precious fish, our beloved cleaner shrimp, and of course the remaining BTA and corals.
I removed all the pieces I could find with a turkey baster (two half dollar sized pieces and a bunch of tiny pieces and tentacle segments.) I'm amazed at how little flesh there is in the tank though. Is it possible the crabs and shrimp already took care of some of it for me?
Also are there any threads showing how to anemone-proof the ball shaped 6025s?
