EMERGENCY - Tank Leak MUST SELL ALL LIVESTOCK ASAP

Correction - Coral is spoken for but the fish are available if you can pick them up tomight. PM me if you are interested in any of the fish

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your leak. I hope that you're able to get everything figured out. If I had my system running and not just the display, I'd be tempted to get the clowns, but sadly I can't give them a good home right now. I hope everything works out for you.

Nate - thanks. I was able to get the leak slowed enough to a slow drip using some marine epoxy all along the bottom front glass. Of course it looks like hell - but it reduced the leak so I only lost 3/4 inches of water in 20 hours and I was able to catch that in a bucket. Apparently the who seal in the bottom front failed. Don't know why - if it was age or ???

James - Thanks.

Thanks to those who bought all of my livestock and helped me break down the tank. It was good to know the livestock all found a good home with several reef fanatics - and the help breaking down the tank was much appreciated.

Hugo - yes, I will be selling equipment. I will post a list in the next day or two

I am putting the tank and stand (its a 72 gallon bowfront) on craigslist in case someone wants to spend time fixing it. The tank will require scraping . sanding off the marine epoxy (its not pretty and may take a bit of effort to get off - like I said i was trying to do what I could to stop the leak) and resealing everything. The stand overall is in good shape. There are a few areas that will need sanded where some of the marine epoxy got on the lip of the wood - but other than that, the stand is in good shape.

In case anyone wants it - asking $50 for the tank (the tank is not cleaned and needs the work described above - you take it as is). Also asking $150 for the stand (stand was store bought made for the 72 gallon bowfront - light maple shade.

Sorry no pics available right now

Unfortunately, a lot of bowfronts eventually end up failing due to the greater stress on the front glass. One of my customers had an old model all-glass 72 and the entire top brace split right in the middle, causing the glass to pull away from the back wall by about 1/8th of an inch. You could see water through the hole in the brace. I feel they are especially sensitive if you're not 100% careful about leveling the tank prior to filling it.

Thanks - I always wondered about that and unfortunately found out.

FYI - I am starting a new thread with all my equipment for sale for those who are interested
