Just transferred puffer to a Q-tank and he gulped a small amount of air. He is in the Q tank with a bulg in his side. He can't seem to get it out! Is this the end of him? I don't want him to suffer.

please check w/ www.thepufferforum.com ASAP... sorry I don't know first hand what you should do, if it was try or die I would probably try to grab him and while holding him underwater see if I could sort of gentle shake him to get it out.

thanks so much for the reference. i had to push the air out of him and after he inflated and deflated quite a few times, he finally got the bubble out. he looks completely exhausted, but at least he might recover. thanks again.

seen hundreds of puffers suck air and be fine. i worked on a crab boat and we d catch them all the time, i prank on the boat would be to get one to puff up under water and youd hold it till it relaxed and squirt your co worker, i also had a pet one in a soft shell holding tank for a while, he d eat out of your hand
