I have a pair of platinum clowns and i think 1 of them is getting ICK...what should I do????He is barely moving and breathing REALLY REALLY heavy...I have no medications or any other tank to throw him in..I do have an empty tank I can make fresh salt water and quarentine him...what salinity should I do..or use some of that tank water with fresh salt water and hypo it...what to do..

Any help would be appreciated....very expensive and just got them..they are young..anut and inch and a half each...should i treat both of them??

you should have taken them out of you display tank as soon as you saw ich. Put them in a separate tank and medicate for ich...ASAP

Can't use fresh mix salt. I would use DT tank water and put new water mix into the DT. Get some medicine and treat the sick clown. What medicine depents on what the problem is. Make sure you have airation and heater to keep Q tank warm and well airated
Good luck

Do a search on clownfish disease and the usual suspects, treating it the wrong way will kill it faster. Bummer that is one nice clownfish.

Looking for a guy Frank...am talking to Charlie on the phone...sorry but real nervous..took months to get these guys..Frank I have lots of question and HAVE to make sure i do this right...maybe a quick call...My # is 207-763-3076

I have a 10 G i can do that with..bare bottom no nothing...but what to do..what water , saliniuty, and I have no medications right now..It is midnight where I am...I need a quick solution to get them through the night....

No...what about starting hypo?? tank water fresh salt water and straight RO water..my salinity is at .025 right now...what if I mix all three waters and bring it down to like .022..to start helping it along...raise temp to 81 and throw in an airstone?
PS..really appreciate you helping like this...nervouse bro...my babies are sick ...lol

Hyposalinity will not help right now. It takes days to lower the salinity. You need medications. If you not really sure of the disease, IMO, treat with copper.

a pair of platnum clowns? wow, hope they pull through for you, just curious where did you get them from? and how long ago? If you just got them and from a place with a quarantee start taking photos asap and taking pictures of water tests........ showing that this problem is not your fault, i would be p.o'd if i bought an expensive a$$ pair of platnum clos that were sicked before they were shipped.

i would take the 10 gallon, take some sand from the bottom of the display tank and put it into the 10 gallon since you dont have a seeded sponge filter for the tank, no bacteria=high amonia=even sicker fish, and fill it ith ater from the display tank, throw a heater in and an air stone, take some pics of the fish and post it, maybe e can id whats exactly wrong and what needs done to cure them

What will melt?? I have no medications til morning..9 or 10 hours from now...was hoping a quick freshwater dip ..then back in the tank..increase temp to 81..is now 80..have airation going and drop salinity a few points..maybe like from .025 to .022...or something

I just to do something for now til morning and will get medication..knowing there is copper in medications...I can put them into a 10 gal...but am just trying to make sure i take the BEST course of action...with the water...I have display water fresh salt water and fresh Ro water...just not sure how to go about it..ratios of each etc...
