Hi,

Could someone recommend a hardy large angel for my large tank. I already have a 3" Annularis and a coral beauty. I have a sensitive powder blue tang that has ich, so i have lowered SG to 1.021 and raised the temp to 84-85 degrees. A new resident should be ok in these conditions. I spent bucco bucks on a 2.5-3 Queen and Iblie angel from the LFS, but they were just not eating and both kinda sat there till they weakened and died. I was thinking of buying a new Queen, Maculosus angels or even a goldflake from a seller with a 14 day guarantee. Any advice would be appreciated.

thx,

Paul

first of all . dont buy anything till you stablize your problem. then you need to find out what caused the outbreak. do you qt your fish?
how long has the tank been up and running?

if you want hardy...... a mac angel is almost a sure thing. beware though.. colors may be close to the annularis and could cause issues.
good luck.

<a this is why im willing to gamble on both fish!!!!!! it does make me nervous ... my emp is very very hardy and i would hate to lose him over 2 angels tring to kill each other.

I love Queen and Emperor Angels. Some of the most beautiful fish out there

Hi all,

The tanks been running about 6 months since I had to change it out due to a seam defect, and it ran for about a year and one half before that. . I have had ich for about 3 months, usually affecting the new fish. My Powder Brown tang had it, but now hes over it. I dont want to introduce a new Queen or other if their just going to die on me; the Annularis has never been seen attacking the new angels and I have plenty of lifestock (mostly tangs hehe) that are doing great. I have not seen ich on the angelfish, so I'm looking at the high temp./low S.G. combination as a contributing factor to their demise. In addition, I think my (very expensive) specimens were in a weakened state at the time of purchase, because the reputation of the Queen and Eblie are that they're pretty hardy. I will check parameters tonight.

cya,

paul
