what media is good to use in extra slots when it comes to a healthy reef aquarium?
emperor 400...custom filtration...

You could try some large grained carbon. IME the extra slots are a PIA to fill, as any smaller media slips out/between the two plastic halves and causes a mess. I've stopped using them and simply prop a media bag up by the outflow. It's nowhere nere the efficiency of a reactor but at least it's something.

would love to see the test data for that....
Run carbon/phosban in that filter.......I use have a blower fan on mine to help with cooling (which it does ),....
