emperor angel question?

I have a 220 with live rock and some brown Zoa's and some xenias. Not a ton of stuff but really like the way they look. I wont be adding more, but was wondering will a emperor eat these? I have nothing but tangs right now and wanted to add one more fish and that would be a emperor. Let me know if any one has any experience or thoughts on the situation.

I agree with all others. My current one leaves them alone, but I imagine that it could change it's mind at any time.

Don't do it unless you are prepared to take the tank apart to catch it.

I have had my juv emperor in my reef tank for about 2 months with alot of different coral's [zoos, tulip corals, brain coral, mushrooms..ect] and he only niped at the brain twice about a month ago. besides that he's been great

I had mine for more than 4 months. My tank is loaded with soft coral and LPS. He hasn't touch anything yet.

I did had to remove the 2 brains coral because he nipped on them right after I put him to the tank.

I have had my juv emperor for 2 months. Tank has Softs. SPS, LPS, and clams and it leaves everything alone. Loves the veggie clip.

Put him in the tank and if he eats your brown zoas and xenia, count your blessings. Mine picked when it was small and now prefers my fish mix. I just put a small blue face in the tank and his slight picking behavior is the same as the emp. I anticipate he too will begin to like the special chum and turn from the corals. The key is good yummy food that is highly nutritious, feed a varied diet often which is more satisfying than that old tangy coral overthere.

JMO, angels aren't that hard to catch. Well adapted ones anyways. If they will eat then you can always bait a fish trap and get 'em. If they won't eat....then they won't be pestering your reef for long anyways....

Its best to get them when they are juvy and train them not to eat your corals.

Emperor most likely won't touch Xenia, but zoa is a different story since some angels love zoa.

a lot of angels like zoas. also most like meaty corals like brains and such. its a risk but i would choose the angel over brown zoas and xenia. once the zoas and xenia spread you will be hoping you get an angel that goes for them. lol
