Emperor Angel & Zoas...Experience?

Does anyone here have an emperor angel (adult) that they have kept longterm with zoas? I know these guys are "reef safe with caution" or not reef safe depending on who is classifying them but this is my first time having an adult emperor and he recently started chowing down on my zoas.

Who has an emperor angel and zoas together in a tank without problems?

I am trying to figure out if I should get rid of the emperor and try another or avoid the adult version of this fish all together.

I had an emporer angel and zoas.


Then I just had an emporer angel.

+1 that was the 1st coral that was completely wiped from my tank. It took my emp about 3 hours tops. :lmao:

I like the fish more than the corals. Emp over zoa any day.

Will the emperor bother other corals? If so which ones?

Any fleshy LPS are definitely gone (brains, acans, chalices etc). Your best bet is SPS and mushrooms. My angels wont eat mushrooms, but they eventually ate all other noxious soft corals.

So, I am guessing that adding Blastomussas to the tank would be out of the question too?
