i have a semi reef tank with monitpora and softies, and fish, and shrimps.

please excuse my language as this is the only way i know how to describe this.

just now i was watching my tank and all out of nowhere i see this white cloud of smkoke or something, looks like sperm underwater or smoke underwater. it happened in four different spots. i don't if it's an organism that moved or what but it is scary me . i am running carbon as of now just be be in case. please let me know what it is and what should i do thanks.

Could be a spawning from a critter, a bacteria or micro algae bloom or a calcium carbonate precipitation.
Spawning should be taken care of by your skimmer if it is a good performar a water change may help and keep testing for Ammonia just in case.
A bacterial or algae bloom may or may not be helped by the skimmer. Reduced feeding and lighting may help.
To know if it is precipitation you need to know your PH, Alkalinity and Calcium Levels, If the three are coincidentaly on the high side it might be a precipitation, You can add carbonated water to lower your PH if it is higher than 8.4
What is it?

It sounds like a spawning event- if it doesn't cloud the tank, no worries if you keep to your routine of water changes and skimming. Bristle worms, other critters down there tend to do that around the time of a full moon, ime.

It's likely some worm or snail that spawned. A good thing. When one goes other soon follow, so it's very common to see. If it starts getting cloudy you might want to do a water change. Otherwise let the skimmer go nuts, and the carbon should take care of the rest. :)

it is very cloudy i can still see the back of my tank but man it's weird
imma do a water change asap. like right now.

could it be my pest aiptasias? they have been weird a few days now been bulgin up and retracted. i was able to pull some out easier then i actual can then before.

Sounds like a good idea, it can only help. Mass spawns can cause trouble when it gets too cloudy/thick and depresses oxygen exchange. Be sure the skimmer is doing it's job too. :)

Again just to be sure what was your Calcium, Alkalinity and PH before the event? The Aiptasias do not generate the cloud but might have been reacting to parameters out of range.
Did you added any supplement?

my readings are calcium are 380 calcium
and 13 alkalinity

i did dose calcium chloride yeterday night 2.5 ml i do it once a week, i do 1 gallon water change every other day.

this is in my 20 gallon high

Your alkalinity is high (Try 11 to 12 Max) in any case as your Calcium is Low (Try 425) if your PH is below 8.4 there is little chance for a precipitation and you might treat it as a spawning event. Monitor your Ammonia and change water as required to keep it low if the skimmer can't catch up.
