encrusting and surface area of live rock

i wonder if encrusting of sps and covering the whole surface area of live rock may decrease the amount of living bacteria on the rocks and may need increaing of the amount of live rocks in the system

would that be a real issue

If the corals manage to encrust over all surface area, well perhaps, but I don't think that's possible. The underside of the LR will not be covered in coral - no light. Also, the bacteria don't just live on the surface, but mostly inside the LR

yeah but the quistion would be does that really requires more liverock or it isnt an issue
