Encrusting corals?

I have Tyree sunset Monti and Rainbow Monti Both grow at incredible speed and the sunset is at the base of a few branching corals and is stinging them. It's easy to clip a branch thats stinging another branch but not so easy with encrusting. The only coral it doesn't bother is branching Montipora but it does overtake it. Any suggestions? I might just have to try and scrape it back.
Thanks

try getting a little chisel or flat head screwdriver in there and chiseling it back a bit. then put a piece of something (whether it be a frag disk, or an old piece of montipora skeleton) in btwn the two as a barrier so as the encrusting monti grows it grows onto something and you can break it off as a frag.

or if you just want to smother it back a little you can cover it with the underwater 2 part epoxy. i used to do this with green star polyps that were out of control.

Yourdoing a better job then I would. Hope your backs all straighten out.
Yeah this coral is stunning but it has become my weed and in order to frag it I will have to break down part of the tank. It visually grows by the day.
