can i use this as a canister for carbon / filter floss in my 300?

i need something thats going to move a good amt of water and help me clear it up some.

yes, I use a slightly different model for my carbon.

i have a yellow tinting to the tank so i need something i can run my carbon thru i have just a biowheel and a mini canister filter on the tank which arent doing anything so i want something thats going to really get the job done.

think ill have any issues with it i also need something i can get the detritus out of my sump with and get the bigger matter out so it doesnt cloud the tank when ever i add water to the sump
