Enough light?

I still need to ID my clam (will post picture soon), but AFAIK it is a Crocea clam (according to LFS).

Would it be OK with 4 x 54W T5 tubes consisting of 1 Actinic and 3 10k lights?

The one is a HO, then there is the Actinic and two Aquablue+ tubes

Croceas usually demand the highest degree of lighting. I am not as familiar with others as to the capabilities of T5s, but many claim they are the future of lighting.

How big a tank (ie- how far will the clam be from the bulbs)?

It is a 550l tank, 1.5m wide and about 650mm high. Currently the clam is on a rock on the bottom since that is what I have read is best when one acclimatise a new clam. I intend to maybe put it half way up the tank.

i thik you will be fine if the clam is at least have way up in the tank.
