i have 160 watt 4 bulbs 36 inch long fixture individual reflectors about 3 inchs above the water.
is this enough light to keep sps at the top and lps, the my tank is 36 inchs long 12 inchs wide and 14 inchs tall thanks.

Depends on the bulbs. I am not sure which combo of 3 foot bulbs would come out to 160w though. Are these 39w T5's by chance?

So 4x39w T5 HO bulbs? Yeah that is plenty of light for a 29g. You should be able to grow just about anything you want assuming you get good quality bulbs.

You should be able to grow some SPS on the bottom, and even some clams if you so choose. 14" is a good depth for a small tank. Looks good and isn't so deep that only mushrooms survive the bottom ;).

I would confidently put hydnophora, monti digitata, monti cap, cactus pavona, or birds nest in the bottom of a tank lighted like that.

Be sure to get good bulbs though. In T5 terms, you really do get what you pay for. ATI seems to be making the best bulbs with good PAR output these days.

i think it is the bulbs on my fixture that are why my corals are strtching for light they are stock, this is why i ask because my mushrooms on the bottom of the tank stretch like 1 inch.
