Enough Lighting or Not?

I saw a beautiful clam at my lfs the other day. I think it is a crocea, but I cannot be sure. I will call him and ask tomorrow, but my question is this: Is 216 watts of T5 HO light on a 75 gallon tank enough light for one? Once again, I will post what species it is tomorrow, but I am pretty sure it was a crocea. It was mainly a blue green color, with some green and yellow specks.

The clam itself is about 3 1/2 inches, and I could get him about 6 or 7 inches under the light. If need be, I would stack my rocks even higher to get him where he needs to be.

I would say no. If you want to keep clams you would need quality lighting of at least 5-8 watts per gallon. Yours is barely 3 watts per gallon. I have 300 watts of PC light with a 50 gallon and I put my clam 2" from the surface.

Sorry I just wanted my point to be clear. I just didn't want a clam to die on you. Sorry man you are right i could have said it nicer
no hard feelings

I wonder how many kids our age are into reefkeeping. Maybe either you or I should start a post seeing how many kids are our age that are into reefkeeping. Also we can ask to post pictures.

That'd be cool to start a club of trading frags since it is a little bit harder for younger kids to buy stuff with their own money. We should start one.

Ya thats a good idea on the trading frags. I think we should try that. Any idea on how we woulds set that up?

I don't know. We could set up a website, and then start a post asking anybody under 18 or so to join. We could have our own tank of the month, frag swap, anything! That would be awesome. I just saw that you had 1 year and 2 months experience, I have 1 year lol. I will e-mail you so e don't get this thread deleted for being off track. Lol.
