Equipment in the garage

So, I am sure some people on here keep most of their equipment/sumps etc in the garage.

Lets see some pics!

Do any of you have trouble with humidity with your cars? What about 'salt air' like at the beach - any trouble for the cars with that?

Everything but my main tank and lights are in my garage.
I had a cricket and bumble issue with them diving into the sump years ago.

Since then I have sealed it all off to the outside.

I've got all my equipment in a room in the garage. I don't have the room vented yet and have experienced rust on tools. I expect that when I get the room sealed from the rest of the garage and vented, rust won't be an issue.
I do get wasps from time to time.

Everything in the garage.

The rust is my concern. I have two cars parked in the garage, and both mean quite a bit to me. On the other hand, I have enough room to put the equipment, so its a nice solution to my problem there.

I would just hate to find out that my cars are getting some rust, and if they would be susceptible, I would rather not put anything out there.

For you other guys with the stuff in your garage, have you experienced rusting issues with tools, etc.?

You will get rust in time. I just finished enclosing all of my equipment in a fish room in the garage to avoid the rust and to better control the enviroment. I put a window mounted A/C unit in there aswell. Next weekend I will be adding the exhaust fan.

I'd be more concerned with car fumes and exhaust polluting the tank than the tank polluting the cars.

The salt won't evaporate so you aren't likely to get too much "salt spray" but there will be humidty from the evap. That can be easily solved with a standard dehumidifying unit.

I barely drive the cars, so pollution is of little concern to me. It sounds though like those with garage equipment are split between those who have noticed rust and those who have not. Interesting. My garage is sheet rocked and insulated. I wonder if that plays a role. Due to the location where I have space, venting will be difficult.

Would you guys put the stuff out there?
