Equipment mishap (Heater)

I'm just setting up my aquarium and I dropped the temp probes into the water and waited too long to get the heater in. It partially melted the suction cups and left burned rubber residue on the heater. The heater is a 500w Hygger titanium. I cleaned off the residue. If the suction cups are still pliable are they safe to use? Any other considerations?

As long as the housing isn't cracked/damaged in any way, and it hasn't shorted-out (meaning it still works and generates heat), I'd say you're fine.

Make sure you check the wiring where it enters the capsule. It should still be pliable without any cracks. Dont burn your fingers. Large heaters take some care, especially when not in water.
