Erectus gave birth this morning HELP

My erectus gave birth this morning, and I was totally unprepared for it.
I am looking for advice on what to do next.
Is there any hope in saving any of this batch?
Do they give birth on regular intervals? (how do know when to expect it)
Do i need to setup a separate nursery tank or can they stay in with the parents?

I have lots more questions, but any resources or info would be a great help.

Set up another tank for them with clean fresh new saltwater and put them in there... start to feed them enriched baby brine or newly hatched right now since you were not prepared.

Normally, once they start having babies they keep going. The males can get preggo right after they give birth and normally do a couple hours later.. so if that happened.. you have 2 weeks until you get more babies.

If you are not prepared to handle this batch don't feel bad.. it happens. You can either allow the reef to take them or give them away to someone else that wants them.

where are you located?

I am located near Lexington, KY

I will get another tank today, and get some brine shrimp eggs so that i am prepared for the next batch.
What kind of tank setup do you recommend for the nursery tank? Do they need a kreisel type tank?

thanks

Yay! My babies had babies!

They don't have to have a kreisel. A small tank with divider will be fine. How many do you think he had? First batches can be somewhat small, and can increase in size with each birth. My last seahorse birth was 469 (that we found) and it took 5 days for him to finish giving birth.

I would guess probably about 60-75, none made it :sad2:
I will be better prepared next time!
