ESHINE 48X3W 4G lighting fixture experience

I thought I would post a couple before and after pictures of my coral under 2X Eshine 48x3W CREE LEDs in my 125 gallon tank

6/13/2012 - You can see definite growth. I ran both white and blue to 100% about 5 hours a day.

Having a 48x18x30d tank, I'm not sure what I should look at from them. I prefer a mixed reef, so I can move things up/down, but how many/what fixtures should I be looking at?

If you want the solar simulator (programmable dimmer) it only comes on the 48x3 which are just under 24" each. More than enough for a 48" tank.

60 watt cree classics are around 15", cheaper and have dimmers.

36x3 are about 18" and do not have dimmers. They have 2 cords, 1 whites, and 1 blues.

Two of any of those should cover your tank. You might need 3 of the Cree classics though if you are doing sps since they are only 15" long---otherwise coverage should be adequate.

Also, unless you are dead set on Eshine............do a search for "Chinese LED lights". There you will find 85 pages of discussion. The last 20 pages or so they talk about some fixtures that have 55 3 watt LEDs and they have dimmers for $165 with free shipping. You can read what people say---everyone seems to like them----a lot. The links are there to find them---they seem like a good value. The Eshines are nice but they want roughly $125 to ship 2 of them and they make you pay the paypal fees too. I love my eshines.....however, I have a friend wanting LEDs and I am steering him towards the lights on the "chinese LED lights" thread. I don't know if you can beat that value. Just my 2 cents.

I am sure it would work but why not use the $5.00 6500K CF bulb from Lowes that
everyone else uses and save that money for other stuff. Do a search for 6500K sump light and save $$$. ...

Hi radbluesfan :) ,

-$ That's true , but i was wondering if chaeto would grow better in nutrient low conditions , with such concentrated light conditions.
But i would go to much off topic , sorry ...

Thanks. I'm looking to replace my halides and T5 canopy and am looking at the options between pure T5 and LED.

In the interest of a balanced thread I've know a few people order from them (after my recommendation) and no-one has ever had any problems with quality or delivery. To be honest I think you get more than you pay for, and the new 4G pro lights are seriously impressive. I've had my system (I went for a custom job which they do for a ludicrously low charge) for almost 2 years now with no issues. Food for thought
