Hi all I am hoping someone can help with this as I have a concern with the skimmer section in this sump!
I was looking at another post with in this Forum about the 3rd gen R-200 and noticed some distinct difference between the two that are kind of alarming.
In the other post the teeth that go from the skimmer section to the return pump section that regulate water level is 1 inch tall with the minimum water level being at 8 inches. Mine on the other hand which was purchased in 2015 just like this gentleman did are instead two inches tall with the minimum water level being at 7 inches.
I know that the new ones on BRS that are 3rd Gen now have an adjustable acrylic plate to adjust water level, but I am trying to avoid buying a new sump.
My question is, will a skimmer work at these depths when most are recommended to be at 8 inches or above? I am really considering the Aquamaxx FS-80 for this sump but the recommended water level on Eshopps website is 8.6 inches. In order to achieve that I would have to add so much water to the return sump that it would not flow very well.
The first picture is the other gentleman's and mine is the 2nd picture, very distinct design difference.
Any help is appreciated here.
thank you.
