Eshopps Magnetic Probe Holder Rust / Recommend holder

So I was cleaning my sump and recalibrating my ph probes when I removed my probe holder from the sump. Much to my dismay I found that the probe holders I use had rusted magnets. I e-mailed eshopps and have yet to receive a response from them.

I don't know why the magnets rusted like this, I had the holders sitting in my sump and have not moved them or anything until I went to recalibrate my probes. Not sure what would cause this.

Anyway does anyone have any recommendations for a probe holder? I need it to hold an apex temp probe and ph probe.

Hello,

I have been utilizing two of the Eshopp Magnetic Probe holders in my reef tank.

Today I removed my probes to calibrate them and much to my dismay found that where the magnets sit inside of my sump corroded and began to rust.
Does eshopps offer any type of warranty service for this? I am just glad I caught it when I did because this could have spelled disaster for my tank!
I attached photos so you can visualize what I mean.

Neptune has a magnetic probe holder with a larger hole for the Apex temp probe. It holds 4 probes and is a little larger than most. Vertex has two very high quality 3 hole holders. The XD has one larger hole but it does not easily fit the Apex temp probe but can be made to work. The Vertex holders are very compact and fit in many tight places. All these products are much higher quality than you current holder. Apex holders can be purchased at any Apex dealer. The Vertex holders are carried by BRS- a RC sponsor and probably others. They carry the Apex holder as well

if they dont replace the unit for you... you can bore out the old magnet and buy a epoxy covered neo magnet online. if you do that, i would replace both of them. and only cost a few dollars.

Thanks for the tips guys, if they don't replace it I think I'll buy the neptune probe holder. Don't think I'll buy anything eshopps makes again though.
