Eshopps psk100h problems

I bought a new Eshopps psk 100 HOB protein skimmer . I have it set up in my 29 gal sump. It has been set up for almost two days. I had to extend the intake pipe on the skimmer to get the water into the skimmer body. I keep loosing the water level in the intake, thus makes the water level in the main chamber go down and no bubbles ...all equals non working skimmer.

I have had to restart the skimmer 2 times today.

Any help or any one that has this skimmet and it is working.
