So we discussed this at the last mtg. We almost had Randy hooked but it ended undecided. It's a board appointed position which basically comes up with ideas to market the club (dive shops, though limited in the area would be a good example of expanding our marketing area. Fishing/bait shops/fly fishing/etc... Basically anything water related will probably find others interested in our hobby) If anyone in the club is in sales, it would be great if you would volunteer. It's not a position with a lot of pressure to get out there and sell. Rather it's a position for someone willing to stop off at local bizs and ask to see if we can leave fliers or club intro cards.

If willing to help raise awareness that there actually is a local SW club in the area with people willing to help people, please post here or PM Matt or myself.

well that's good to know I have been working on some things myself hope to have good news soon. I think we all could just keep the club in mind like I talk to a guy at holston gas for out co2 and we can get it cheap from them and it is like 20% off what it cost in other places here in Knox like I paid 75 dollars from a place on middlebrook pike and I will never buy from there again so lets all look out for our club when we can and I like showing off my nice frags I have had for a short time like from Feb and it has grown from a quarter to about 7 inches across

Cool, thanks Randy. I just didn't want you to be pressured to accept during the meeting. We gave you a way out, and you stepped in, so the board will get together and let all know the outcome.

Larry, nice shot. Dude, your tank is a growth factory but start your own thread. No hijacks on the third reply... gotta wait till like 6-7 :uzi:

Well, it was kinda thrown at me unexpectedly at the meeting... I had to think about it... Don't want to shortchange the club by not adequately representing... And I thought it best a decision not made on 3 or 4 beers... lol :)

On a side note, you two get along... Theres enough space on here for us all... lol :D

$75 for CO2 does seem excessive to me. Is that for a refill? I do a cylinder exchange and it costs me $15, but it's convienent for me so I pay the extra. Used to get it in north Knox for about $9, though.

I keep telling people I have frags anytime, but no one ever asks. DOn't know if they're afraid to ask, I'm too far away, or whatever, but they're still here for the asking at reasonable prices (or so I think, perhaps that's the problem).

i will have to wait till i get the 135 up and running dave but i would love to come to your place and see your tank with the wife some time

Ok here's my on topic post: I think Randy would be good in the position of PR person.

Off topic: Dave, I'd love a bunch of frags from you but I don't ask because I don't want to bother you. I feel like you get bombarded with requests for frags (you used to say that you got requests all the time), therefore I never want to add to the number of people bugging you.

Dave:

I thought the sizes and prices of the corals you fragged for me were extremely reasonable. Let me know when your ready to frag that one coral :mixed:.
