Euro-Reef DIY clone.

Thanks...I am not confident enough in my acrylic skills yet to make for people other than my friends. They are pretty forgiving of flaws, and I can go to their house if they need help with something.

Well...I never thought of that. I will have to take a picture of the jig the next time I am in the shop. (backyard) : )

the jig i have i was goint to make was basically half a box, with an end and 2 long sides. it would keep the tube square to the blade and keep the blade at the right place on the tube. is this similar to what you used?

thanks for the info on the uniseals, the prices you listed are cheaper than aquaticeco.com. there are pumps on aquaticeco.com that are the same as sedra for 1/3 the price, and will accept a sedra needle wheel impeller, if you are interested here is a link... i am going to give them a whirl...

That is what my jig is like...half a box. Just like overflowin described.

Thanks for the link on the pump.

Where do you get the Sedra needle wheel impellar? Wonde rif it would work with the Gen X 2400? I just think the venturi on them blows. I am looking into trying a Mazzei injector on my clone, wonder if that works?

i was also wondering where to get the needle wheels...looks like at premium aquatics you can only get them with a valid euro reef warranty....

some other people on here have mentioned using a 3m plastic buffer for a die grinder for a needle wheel. its being tested now i guess...if i can find the post i'll post a link.

Hey Donnie

Where did you hear that? Just curious as that is a very interesting alternative to the Sedras.

Thanks

....
I used my table saw to cut the acrylic tube. I made a jig to make sure it stayed nice and straight. Then I sanded the edge to get it even smoother.....

Can you post a picture of this jig? I'm a picture person :)

Getting tired of getting crooked cuts when I cut my tubing...

thanks
