did the recirc mod
feed is gravity from overflow now

it all went well the only part that doesnt look proffesional is were the pump intake goes into the skimmer body, i used a dremel to cut the hole exactly the same size as the pump intake and used silicone to seal it. i will order a gromet and use the dremel to cut it to size later

i did add a 8" dsb under the skimmer in its sump chamber as well to help with nitrate removal and support the skimmer at the hieght i want

either tomorrow or later tonight ill try and post pics of my getto 50g sump

Im just curiouse about the dsb under the skimmer, would this have any effect on skimmer stablity/use? Is the skimmer return ontop of the sand (maybe creating particles that could go into the skimmer?) Im just curiouse as I have never really seen that

ill try and get the camera from the wife. tonight when i add the 45% elbow ill try and get pics [gatta go to work now]

theres no issue with the sand at all its not miving around at all.

rite now the only flaw is the sedra pump is sucking allot of bubbles coming in the return and its chopping them perfect but flow in the skimmer is moving up and down about a half to 3/4 of an inch. theres so many bubbles that there going out the bottom of the skimmer and building into large bubbles and as it rises out the tube to go back to the sump its pulling the water fast and slow with the air bubbles.

needs a gate vavle mod and i need to put a 45% elbow on the return, and if that doesnt stop the air bubbles from getting to the pump entrance ill make a plexiglass 90% that will draw water in from the bottom of the skimmer.

I did get some skimmate overnight so it can only get better from here
