anyone use them? just wondering what the coloring is like and how they like the bulbs? please if you are running this bulb post a pic of your tank so i can see them in action.

mine was very blue when brand new but got less blue and more white as time went on. I like the color quite abit.

I found evc14k pics under kenfuzed, phoneguy982, sloven, and urabggr. There are also sun14k pics in the 250w thread by JBNY that should look similar based on Sanjay's graphs. My evc's are coming in tomorrow.

I'm replacing my 400w radiums, and leave my xm 10k's. I may do a little playing around and take some pics because I plan to replace the xm's this March with 20k's. I figure evc14k's would blend well with regular 20k's to make a nice color.

I got my EVC 14k's last night and took some pics. They are in my gallery, but don't represent what I see. The EVC's are defiantly more blue/purple than the radiums and cause the corals to floress more. They make the radiums look like 12k bulbs.

The thing that doesn't look right in the pics is the tank doesn't look neon blue like the pics suggest. I'll have to play with the white balance to see if I can get it to look more accurate. The bulbs to the eye look more blue than 400w 20k's, less blue than 250w 20k's.

The thing I was surprised by was the fact that they don't offset the xm10k's any more than the radiums. With 10k's and 20k's all on, the result was white, not white/blue.
