Playing around with compensation settings, the darker image was intentional, trying to make the images pop, still have some learning to do in this area

nice shots. f/18 is a bit high IMO. i'd stop down to at least f/13 for a FTS and increase the ISO to 200-400 based on the lighting you described.

btw....what kind of mantis are you putting in there?
 
I've got the ISO @200 I'll do a series with the F at 12 and see how it makes a difference, thanks for the advice....I'm still very new at photography and learning each week
 
Why not try shooting underexposed in RAW and adjusting saturation and highlighting up in PS or other RAW developer?
 
Beautiful pics. What is the original size of some of these files? How do you reduce them down to 50 K and still get them to look so large?

I'm a total techy moron, don't have any programs other than the one that arrived with the camera, not even sure I could figure out how to use PS or any of the other ones.
