I just got home from work and found my Midas Blenny on the carpet. :(

To top it off, it was my favorite fish!

yea alot of fish like to go carpet surfing. I think its the cool new thing to do in the fish world. the only problem is that none of them make it back to tell the others that there is no water outside of the tank!

Yeah.....my 6 line wrasse invented a sport similar to base jumping....It's where you jump out of the tank and land in the overflow box. His first attempt was successful. The second attempt failed by about a foot. He was quite stiff when i managed to find him.

Yea one time I found my 6-line wrasse on my carpet. After 3 years of having it in my tank though, and causing me a big pain in the butt (she was mean to other fish) I was kind of happy to see her out. But, I would have rather she wouldn't have died so I could have taken her to the LFS. It was too late though... It looked like she had been on the carpet for hours....

Yeah I lost a firefish to the floor. Ive had a bunch of bettas take the plunge also. Sometimes Im there and can save them sometimes Im not

If you have any fish that are known jumpers, you can cut a piece of light diffuser and put it over the tank.

My firefish jumped twice, the first time my wife saw it and ran over and put that little sucker back in, the second time he wasn't so lucky, found him dead while I was cleaning the filter. That was my favorite fish too. Oh well he's in a better place. May God rest his soul...LOL

i recued a koi out of the dirt next to my pond. it was covered in dried mud and seemed dead. must have been out over an hour. i put it back in the pond and held it in front of the return for a LONG time. it came back to life and lives today.

my Fairy Wrasse jumped out in front of me onto the floor and got scooped up and thrown back into the tank. it too lives and has gotten scared a few other times and tried to jump only to hit the top of the tank or light and fall back into the tank. that must hurt as he is moving very fast.

Last weekend I was in the basement where my 75 gallon reef tank is. All was fine so I went upstairs to get something and was gone 5 minutes at the most. Went back down and my orange spot rabbit fish was laying in front of the stand on the concrete floor motionless except for him breathing. Scared the heck out of me because I was trying to figure out how in the heck I was gonna get him back in the tank without touching him and getting pricked by his fins. He's a big fish too, about 6-8 inches long. I got him picked up in a small glad tupperware container in one hand and a net in the other just in case I had to catch him with that. It was a real nerve wracking experience to try to keep from getting stabbed with his fins.

i lost a blue ribbon eel to the floor, not very fun, a very expensive eel. I had the entire tank covered except about 1 square inch.

My Yellow Candy Hogfish has jumped at least 6 times...I have been there to rescue him each time..The last time was a close call, he sank to the bottom of the tank when I put him back, took awhile to recover..He is in my 240 now with a canopy

My Sixline in my reef:rolleyes: Loved the overflow but jumped the wrong direction last time.

i had a picasso trigger that jumped as well as a percula clown that jumped...i assume that they jumped at least...i have a cat and a big dog that run around the house when im not home so i figure the dog scared the fish, the fish jumped out, cat ate fish...its always nice to come home and find that the $50.00 fish you were all excited about just turned into a $50.00 cat treat that the cat is all excited about...ive since put egg crate on top of my tank...

Gramma basslet . He never moved around fast enough to make ya think he could jump out. Found him one morning when I noticed a strong fish smell. Took awhile to find him behind the tank. I can't believe my cats didn't get him.
