I've had the worst month possible. I lost the male of a tricinctus pair about a month ago that I have had for over a year. They were showing spawning activity but hadn't laid any eggs. I haven't found any juv tri's lately, so I've tried pairing her with clarki's and no luck.
Then a few days later I lost the female of my onyx pair. I had her for about a year and half. Now I'm trying to find another juv to try and pair with the male.
Then I received a pair of Chrys and lost one due to a shipping screw up.
Then this afternoon, I find the male of my occ pair lying on the carpet. I had them for like 5 years and they finally got to spawning size and were starting to clean a nesting spot.
So 4 of my 5 pairs are no more. Atleast my maroons are still spawning. Maybe it's a sign I should focus on maroons.
So, should I try pairing the male onyx with the female occ? And maybe try the female tri with a small Chrys?
