This was my first skimmer and is now an extra that I don't need. It did a fine job on my 29 gallon tank. I have it hanging on my 125 now, and even though I have the ASM Mini G and a seaclone on the tank, the Excalibur is still pulling skimmate. I think this skimmer would do just fine on something as big as a 55 gallon tank, but not so sure about larger. Personally, I think skimmers are very under rated because the manufacturers want to make several models, some being very high priced, and convince us that we need them. :twitch:
As you all likely know, this is not the greatest skimmer, nor is it the most expensive out there. I'm going to post it on Craigslist for $50, but if you're a reef club member, we'll talk a bit more about price.
I may be willing to trade it for some frags or something too.
