Wow, that is one beautiful tank! The cap colony is my favorite it looks wonderful. How long has the tank been up and what type of lights are you using?

I found it belive it or not over at the warehouse someone traded it in and the price was right so I couldnt pass it up. You really cant see the detail in colors that it has , its defently much better in person! I cant wait for you to post some pics either I love looking at other tanks!

Thanks Reef,
I just recently bought the cap from Hawkster because he wanted to redo one side of his tank so it worked out well for me because I was wanting a nicely sized one to add in. My tank is been up and running for just over a year now and I have 5- 400w halides. The halides are a combo between10k, 14k, and 20k bulbs, run 8 hrs a day. I use Kalk , and add parts A&B regularly. Water Perams are all in check showing 0 for Nitrite, Amonia, Phosphate and Nitrate. Calcium levels are running around 420-460. Ph is a steady 8.20-8.30 throughout the day and the temp is regulated by the chiller at 76 degrees. Salinity also is a constant 1.026 so I hope this helps if your looking for how my system is run.

Other then that happy reef keeping!

I might have another one by next week and if i cant fit him in the system and your interested I will keep you in mind ... I do have 2 frags that came off that cap when I was transporting him so if you would like they are about 6" across and could start another nice colony.. if you have anything to trade sps wise or are intested in one or both let me know im off and around friday and saturday.

thanks mflamb!

Hey let me know how your 390 is comming, I love the large tanks and would be interested to see some pics of your system! Is it gonna be a reef or a fish only tank?

Thanks again everyone!

I can't make it until thanksgiving or xmas. I have this week off so it would have been great timing

Very nice. Do you use Seio's for circulation and I think I see 2 tangs in the first picture, (tords the left) is one or both a Vlamigni and how big are they?

magic

let me know if you want one of the frags cause I'm off tomorrow maybe we can set something up if your interesed in them..

bono

yes i currently have four tangs in the tank I have a valmingi that's around 10 to 12 inches a unicorn that's about 8 inches a purple tang and a sailfin around 6 inches in diameter if not a bit bigger...for circulation I run 4 seio 1500's and they seem to do fairly well..

thanks for looking everyone and happy reef keeping..

I just picked up a Vlamigni today but he is only about 2" and looks nothing like the larger ones.

I am using 2 1500's in my 180 and I'm running into heat problems. If I leave them on constantly my temp is up to 82+, although I just order a Seio controller that should be here by tues so hopefully the reduction to 30% will help.

are you running a chiller? I really don't have a heat issue with mine but I have a half horse chiller on the system to keep the MH from over heating the tank anyways.. but can't say I saw a difference when I put them online..and where did u find a controler for them because I wouldn't mind picking 1 up ..what do they run $$$ wise?

thanks

I don't run a chiller and was really hoping I wouldn't need one but I may end up going down that road.

A friend at a LFS ordered a controller for me and it's supposed to be here early next week but we shall see. I even thought about going back to Tunze Streams but I was trying to save some money with the Seio's. The cost for the controller is $150.00 I think so about $300.00 with the 2 pumps which is at least half the cost of the Tunze's. I will let you know when I get it and how it works.

cool thanks bono I know what your saying on the price of the tunze's because Its a bit to swallow with a 400 tag on one when I can pick up 2-3 seios for the same cost.
