Exclabiur skimmer setup help

ok i have a excalibur skimmer that i havent used for a year. (im just setting up my tank after taking a year off)

i discovered the air tube into the pump is missing so im wondering will just any old tube work as a replacement.


now the big question im looking at the pump and cant really figure out where it plugs into. there are four holes in the bottum of the pump but nothing that really looks like it goes anywhere.

any help will be great thanx

Need some pics. It should be a rio venturi pump?

i was wrong its not a rio its a tetra (unknown model number)

ok just figured something out, that pump in the pic above goes to some little filter i hade sitting around.

i guess i dont have the pump for this skimmer.

My old exalibur skimmer used a rio venturi pump. Hopefully you get it figured out. GL.

so i got a new rio 800 pump, i hooked it up and its making lots of bubbles. but the bubbles are just getting to the top of the water in the tube and popping. they are not building up and flowing into the collection cup. is this supposed to happen or any clue whats going on here?

Post some pics of the skimmer itself. It might just need an adjustment.

You need to adjust the water higher

I used to use one of those. They are really temperamental.
