Has anyone been to their new place? If you have any comments on it? Last whats the address of it again if anyone knows? Thanks!

I hope with a new store there quality gets better and so does there customer service....

Yeah i called ealier they said end of july or early august hard to understand. I just hope the qaulity gets better never expect good customer service from them other then one guy forget his name though but he dosent know that much.

my dad said that the workers at exotic each get a commision on the fish they sell, that is why you have to go up and ding the bell and ask and they ring you up and such, but if that is true then why aren't they more friendly/helpfull? like they guy at the car lot who won't- not help you!

I have been there more than I can count and the service has been lacking. Although... Brian, I believe that's his name, is great and a another young fella. But overall, the employees are not very friendly in my experience and I've bought half the store.

Living in Elk Grove it is very conveinant for me to hit Exotic. But after watching them steadily go downhill over the last 2 years I refuse to shop there. Now when you go in the corals are either run of the mill brownies, or in some stage of decay. There's always floaters, and the staff is only helpful if they know you. I agree though that Brian is top notch.

I hope their new store is better than the old one turned into, because it was once my favorite stop.

opps

sorry, its CAPITAL that does commisions

for some reason i get the 2 mixed up.

i first went to exotic over a year ago when i kept only fresh tanks, their place was nice, the corals to the point where i had to not look fearing i would cave in a leap into reef tanks (eventually did anyway!) and drooled over their tiny mini reef (like 1 or 2 gallons!) like $100-$200 for the whole thing, totally set up including corals, a skunk shrimp, hermits, snails, little light, it was cool!

i last went there a few months ago....THE PLACE STANK! it was messy, ugly, their live rock for sale was like clumps of hair algae, hardly any corals and none i'd pay that price for.

Dizz, in an attempt to answer your original question... the old store's is now closed. I drove by the old and new locations on the 3rd of July and both buildings were pretty much empty and locked; And as it was mentioned earlier in this thread I've also heard the rumor that the new store will be open by the end of July. The new address and ph# that's on the business card I have is .... 6634 Franklin Blvd, (916) 422-7266.

I also used to make the long trip to Exotic. Then the crap kicked in. The worst thing for me is the prices are never clearly marked on coral. It depends on the day and what guy you talk to. Each guy seems to "estimate" the price on the spot. Every guy estimates differently. Gawd I hate that.
