Experiences? Anyone had any problems with them as far as nibbling on corals? What to feed? Community fish? Aggresive?

Thanks

great community fish; eats algae; needs greens in the diet; mine doesn't hassle anybody including corals--not at all aggressive;

only downsides...get fairly large for a 90; poisonous dorsal spines

They do get rather large (messy). Mine has a taste for brains and elegance corals. He leaves everything else alone. Cool fish!:)

I had mine in my 92 corner but moved him to the 180 after it cycled. He is much happier in there!
They eat alot and therefore produce alot of waste (messy).

Hey thanks. Umm venomous? What are we talking a bee sting or a trip to the hospital? If i am cleaning my tank will I need to worry about being stung? Assuming I am not rearranging rock or directly entering its space.

I have a Magnificent Foxface and I find his care requirements are very similar to my Tangs. eg. large messy herbivore, needs room to swim.

They make awesome fish though, I'd say 90g would be a minimum tank size, unless you have very few fish.

I'd also like to add that they love eating Nori. Keep them fed with Nori and I doubt you'll ever have problems with them and your corals. Atleast I haven't had any...

Ive had two now that were nippers. Had a Magnificent Foxface that nipped on Zoos and clams. Now I have a regular Foxface that has destroyed a number of my SPS.

They are not all reef safe.

regarding envenomation...I've never been to that picture show (and don't plan to attend) but they aren't as bad as lions. From what I've read I would think it would be more on the bee sting level, but I would suppose that some people will be more sensitive than others.

You shouldn't have any problems with routine cleaning. The foxface will most likely hide while you're in the tank. Just don't go poking blind around the back of the rocks.

I took the leap! I picked a foxface I had on reserve from a place called the marine scene. Anyway here goes nothing if he starts eating my sps I am going to remove him and give him to a fellow hobbiest who has a couple fish only tanks. I have always wanted one so here we go. I am going to feed him some green seaweed right off the bat and keep him well fed. Oh whats NORI I will post a picture when he calms down! He is ****ed

I feed mine a mix of stuff, some days dried seaweed on a clip, others frozen stuff like mysis, brine shrimp, or my own shotgun mix of chopped stuff. In between there's plenty of bubble algae for it to munch on. I've never had a problem with it munching on corals. They are very shy especially when first introduced, and they change color quickly when spooked.

I got a real small one, thought it would be a while before he would get to be too big, I have a crowded tank. I have had it about eight months and it is over 6 inches now it was about two when I got it. It donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t touch corals.

This is odd? My foxface likes to hang out in my Anthellia Polyp. Sort of like a clown hosting a anemone. Is this normal? I hope he eats it the stuff is spreading out of control!

Here you can see mine and a large tree coral ( some kind of nepthia I think ) where it likes to hide, until the coast is clear.
