I have a Foxface (Siganus vulpinus) in a 120-gal tank. I got him about 31 months ago when he was less than 3" long. He's about 7" long now.
My Foxface has never bothered any of the other fish. He eats virtually anything and everything but they really do require algae daily. I use Ocean Nutrition's Seaweed Selects. I have tried the brown, the red and the green and my Foxface prefers the red and the green so I don't buy the brown anymore but he did eat it.
The dorsal and anal spines are venomous. If you got a really strong dose, it could be extremely painful but not as bad as a lionfish. It all depends on how you got stuck. Most people get stuck when they try to handle the fish. There is no problem whatsoever as far as sticking your arm in the tank to clean the glass or rearrange things because the Foxface will immediately go into hinding until you are finished. They are very peaceful fish and mine eats from my fingers. I'm just glad he doesn't like to rub up against my arm when I'm cleaning the glass like my Scott's Fairy Wrasse does.
I'm very happy with mine, I just wish my tank was a little larger for him. I think a better minimum size is probably 180 gallons but we don't all have large tanks. I chose a Foxface Rabbitfish because I felt that my little 120-gal was too small for a tang. If it makes you feel any better, I see where Drs. Foster & Smith claims a 70-gal tank is acceptable for this fish.
