Experience with Cypasthrea coral?

Hi all- this weekend I picked up a small Cypasthrea frag. It's purple with green polyps. I've had it for 2 days now and the polyps have not extended, nor were they extended in the store when I got the frag. Just wondering at what point I should be concerned if polyps do not extend. Also, looking for general advice and experience keeping this coral. First time with one.

sometimes it takes a bit for the polyps to come out. Was it kept under different lighting in the store? Do you see any polyps at night after the lights go out?

I do have some cyphastreas that dont extend their polyps during the day. Others such as meteor shower and minefield have polyps extended 24 hours. They all seem to appreciate medium to strong water flow and low to medium light. Be careful where you place them they are a very fast grower

I agree with Stylaster. I get the best color, growth, and PE on my cypasthrea when it is in low/medium light and medium flow. Give it some time to acclimate before you worry too much.

And congrats on your purchase. I think Cypashtrea are under appreciated corals.
There are some real beauties out there.
