does anyone have any experience with keeping colonies of red sea mimic blennies, escenius gravieri. Looking for first hand knowledge only. I know that escenius sp. tend to differ in their aggression levels and wanted to see if anyone has had luck keeping a group together.

I only have one in a 180 mixed reef. I also have a Bicolor, Lined Blenny and LMB.

They all fight endlessly over the same small area in the tank, except the LMB as he is much bigger than everyone else.

Are you referring to Ecsenius gravieri or Plagiotremus rhinorhynchos? The latter is a serious threat to fish. Ecsenius gravieri may or may not pick on corals. IME, they seem to be as variable in this behavior as most of the other Ecsenius species.

I have a red sea mimic and it hasn't caused any harm to my monti cap or digi in my 20L. It has picked at the monti cap, but not enough to really bother it. It hasn't touched any of my other corals.

Would love to see a photo of yours, raynist :D

I will try to get one this weekend. I took him out of the main display as he is very prone to getting ich and the fighting with my bi-color has gotten out of control and is distuptive to the rest of the tankmates

Stay away from it if you have corals.

One of my good friends has one, and he keeps trying to give it to me because its eating his corals.
